MATERIALS:

Textbook:   Principles of Financial Accounting , Weygandt, Kieso, and Kimmel, 6th Edition (if you have the text from ACC111) or  Principles of Financial Accounting Volume II , Weygandt, Kieso, and Kimmel, 6th Edition (including working papers)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Accounting Principles II, a continuation of Accounting Principles I, presents financial accounting for partnerships and corporations as well as introducing the student to financial statement analysis, statement of cash flows, and individual taxation.

Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or better in ACC111

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Students completing this course are expected to have a clear understanding of the accounting concepts unique to corporations, understand the need for and have the ability to prepare a Statement of Cash Flows, gain an understanding of financial statement analysis, and have a grasp on the basic elements of individual taxation.  Students will also be exposed to the Internet and be able to complete some basic research using the World Wide Web.

CLASS ASSIGNMENTS & PARTICIPATION

Accounting Principles II - Online is a 16-week structured course with all students participating on an ongoing weekly basis. This is not a self-paced course.  This course will cover Chapters 10, 13 through 19, Appendix C & Tax Supplement.  Each student is expected to participate by accessing  the course web site weekly and by completing and submitting all course assignments in a timely manner.
 

GRADES

The following rules apply to all graded activities:

     1.  Students are expected to work independently on all activities and assignments where a grade will be assigned.

     2.  Quizzes and Exams are to be completed independently by each student.

     3.  Cheating, or being an accomplice to cheating, will result in a grade of "0" for the assignment and may result in removal from the course.

     4.  All graded activities and assignments will have a designated due date.

     5.  Grades will be assigned to the following activities:

Completion of the   project is mandatory  for completion of this course.
