Pen Tool: When it comes to making selections in Photoshop, there's really two types of people - those who know how to use the Pen Tool, and those who struggle. I struggle.

3 times when to add anchor points.

  1. The curve is greater than 90 degrees
  2. Changing direction of the curve
  3. Hard Corner

You can use the pen tool with Shape, Path or Pixels. If you use the shape tool, you can change the opacity by clicking a number on the key pad.

Practice making a straight path, curved path and a combination of both.

You can use the pen tool with Shape, Path or Pixels. If you use the shape tool, you can change the opacity by clicking a number on the key pad. A will give you 40% opacity.

Practice making a straight path, curved path and a combination of both.

You will need to use the Alt key to constrain the shape and the Control Key to end a shape or path.

We will use the Pen tool to draw an outline of Homer. You will also recreate this picture.

Vector masks are resolution independent and are created with a pen or shape tool.
