Introduction to Class & Narrative/Descriptive Essay
- Write an entry introducing yourself to other online students
- Take quizzes and write Discussion Board entries
- Write a narrative essay on an important event in your life
- You must have learned a "life lesson" from the event
- The paper will be in first person
- 2-3 pages in length

Due Oct. 2nd

Comparison/Contrast Essay
- Focus on writing in 3rd person
- Focus on formatting papers in MLA
- Focus on writing in third person and developing a thesis statement, topic sentences and paragraphs
- You are free to choose your topic; however, please choose college-worthy topics. Avoid comparing or contrasting the following topics:
- dogs and cats
- cars and motorcycles
- apples and oranges
- Choose something that you know a lot about, so your paragraphs are well-developed and informational.
- Here are some examples:
- Compare or contrast two forms of alternative energy
- Compare or Contrast McCain and Obama
- Compare or Contrast Flagstaff and Phoenix
- Be sure and complete all quizzes for this section.
