Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology

Chapter 1 - Introduction


Welcome to Bio 160, Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology!  This is a 4 credit one-semester lab and lecture course covering the essentials of each system of the human body.  It begins with a brief introduction to terminology used by anatomists and basic concepts of chemistry which are necessary for an understanding of the functionings of the body.

What are the requirements of this course?
The first day of class students are given a syllabus which contains important information including what text and lab books are required, when reading assignments, quizzes, lab and lecture examinations occur, how to contact the course instructor, how grades are determined, etc.  It is important for students to keep the syllabus available for reference, since there is a lot of important information in it!
