Approved Minutes of the
First Meeting of the 2001-2002 PVCC Faculty Senate
Thursday, May 3, 2001
Room E197
Meeting brought to order: 3:05 P.M.
Present: Jane Marks, Tom Butler, Kurt Hill, Renee Cornell, Patti marsh,
Hank Mancini, Sue VanBoven, Scott Massey, Steve Nicoloff, Fred Wieck, Shelle Witten, Jan Downey, Carmen Marquez and Roberto Ribas
Absent: none
1) Jane M. requested that all senators introduce themselves.
2) Jane M. led a review of the Faculty Senate 2001-2 Proposed Goals.
Goal #4 was deleted due to a lack of support. It was decided that
committees would be identified to address each remaining goal. Jane M.
will consult with the PVCC administration prior to the conclusion of
Spring, 2001 semester to communicate the senates desire to be involved
in the planning of academic restructuring.
3) Senate meetings will continue to be held the 1st Thursday of each
month. The next senate meeting is scheduled for September 6, 2001,
12:30pm. Academic restructuring will be an agenda item. Jane M. will
invite the president and dean of instruction to this meeting. The
senate will also begin to identify committee membership to address the
senate goals.
4) Adjourned, 5:00 P.M.
