This year has been stepping stone in Paradise Valley Community College music student, Andrew Campo’s, musical career. Campo received help from PVCC’s commercial music director, Fine Arts Faculty Brett Reed, who produced Campo’s demo CD, which includes three cover songs.:

  • “Ain’t No Sunshine,”
  • “Walking in Memphis,”
  • “Spirit in the Night.”

Reed says, “We have a fully operational recording studio that supports our commercial music program... In that capacity we record student performers and professional musicians alike — usually four-to-six projects a semester that turn out completed product. I produce the majority of them.”

Campo says he has a very supportive family. His father and manager, Steven Campo, has guided him through everything. “He pushes me to follow my dream, without him none of this would be possible,” Campo says.

Campo grew up on inspirations such as The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Bruce Springsteen. With his raspy voice and passion for “oldies” Campo captures the crooner style and makes it his own. He hopes to become a well-known musician and to be successful globally . He says, “I’ve always had a passion for music. It brings us all together and closer, helps us escape. There’s nothing else in the world like it.”

All students at PVCC who have a musical passion like Campo are able to drop by the Center for Performing Arts and speak to Brett Reed about producing their project. To listen to Andrew’s music , go to his Youtube.com link at http://youtu.be/qDcxMkWILtw.
