Biographical Information |
|
Dr. Durandet earned all three of her degrees from the University of
Wisconsin - Madison, one of the top ten research institutions in the
United States. After obtaining her PhD, she was awarded a
Postdoctoral Research Physicist position with the University of Virginia
at Charlottesville. She has worked at Argonne National Laboratory,
Brookhaven National Laboratory, and the Fermi National Accelerator
Laboratory.
|
|
Each summer since beginning her employment with the Maricopa County
Community College District, Dr. Durandet returns to the Fermi National
Accelerator Laboratory
(Fermilab)
in Batavia, IL to continue with her particle physics
research. |
|
Dr. Durandet's current research includes working on neutron therapy for
cancer
treatment. She recently completed a sabbatical by spending a year at
Fermilab working as a Research Physicist on neutron therapy (click

for Undergraduates partnership with Arizona State
University's Department of Physics to offer community college science
students opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research.
