First Time CPAT: If you have not taken a CPAT with a Maricopa Community College, or if it has been over 12 months since your last CPAT (with a Maricopa Community College), the cost is $150.00.

Renewal CPAT: If you have taken a CPAT with a Maricopa Community College within the past 12 months, including an FSC130 class, the cost is $50.00.

*wear loose fitting clothes, preferably sweat pants or warm-up's, tennis shoes & t-shirt (NO SHORTS)

When to Arrive
Arrive 20 minutes before your test time.

Required Identification for Registration
You will be required to present a photo ID (drivers license, State ID card, school, military, or federal passport or visa) at sign-in for both the orientation class and test. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE WITHOUT PROPER IDENTIFICATION.

What to Wear
You must wear long pants and footwear with no open heel or toe. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE THE TEST WITHOUT THE PROPER CLOTHING. Jewelry is not allowed. All other equipment (hard hat, gloves, etc) will be provided

Other Preparation Notes

• Expect the testing process to take about 2 hours from the time of registration to exit.
• Hydrate before you arrive. You should drink about a liter of water 1-1/2 hours before you arrive. Water will be available on site

Will I receive a CPAT card or certificate?

No, you will not receive a CPAT card or certificate. Upon completion of the test, your results will be placed in the PVCC CPAT Database.

How do I get my CPAT results?

To have results forwarded to an agency, the agency must contact the PVCC Fire Science Department at (602) 787-6782 and request the results. The official test results are never distributed to the individual that tested.

How long is my CPAT valid?

Usually the CPAT is valid for 6-12 months. However, the length of validity varies by each Fire Department or agency. You must contact that fire department or agency to determine how long a CPAT is current.

What happens if I don’t pass the CPAT test?

You can retest at the next scheduled CPAT. You must pay the registration fee for each test.

Can I receive a refund for my CPAT?

Do to the need for equipment and proctor scheduling, the registration fee is non-refundable.
