How to use the Professional Career Pathway Project (PCPP) Grant at
Paradise Valley Community College
1. Make sure you are eligible to use the grant! This grant is available to individuals who are working with children birth through age five in center-based programs, family child care homes, or family group homes. If you are receiving another grant or scholarship to attend college or have access to professional development funds at your program, you may not be eligible to use
the PCPP Grant. If you or your center receives DES funding, you will need to provide a copy of the DES authorization. If you have questions about your eligibility, please contact Christie Colunga at 602-787-7731.
2. Seek advisement! This grant will pay your tuition and registration fees for specific courses in Early Childhood Education. The selected courses can help you achieve specific career goals including obtaining the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Certificate of Completion and Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education, or other employment
goals. Contact Christie Colunga by phone at 602-787-7731 or by e-mail at christie.colunga@pvmail.maricopa.edu to begin the advisement process. Once you have received advisement, you may begin the application process.
3. Complete, sign, and submit the appropriate forms!
- PCPP College Tuition Application Form (for first time applicants and all subsequent applications)
- PCPP Projected Course Work Form (for first time grant applicants only)
- Send the completed forms with your signature by fax to Christie Colunga at 602-787-7285 or by mail to Christie Colunga, Early Childhood Education, PVCC, 18401 North 32nd Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85032 or deliver to her office, M-188, on campus.
4. Enroll in courses! After you submit your PCPP Application and/or Projected Coursework Form the forms will be submitted for approval. Once you have been approved for participation in the grant you will be contacted by phone and notified to enroll in the approved courses. You can enroll in classes by phone by calling 602-787-7000 or by visiting the Admissions and Records
Office located in the KSC Building on the PVCC campus.
5. Purchase your book! After your grant has been approved you will be mailed a textbook voucher. This voucher allows you to purchase books and supplies at the PVCC Bookstore at the rate of $10.00 per credit of the grant. The faculty at PVCC have carefully selected books to help you make the most of your learning opportunity and to create an excellent professional
library. Contact the PVCC Bookstore at 602-787-7120 for information about the book for your class and bookstore hours.
SPECIAL NOTE: If you do not attend and successfully complete your PCPP Grant approved courses with a grade of C or better, you may become ineligible to use the grant in the future. If you are not able to enroll in or attend a PCPP Grant course, notify Christie Colunga at 602-787-7731 immediately. |
